Strata Brass are thrilled to announce our 2nd place in the second section at today’s Yorkshire Regional Brass Band Championships, qualifying for the National Finals in September! The band delivered an assured performance of Oliver Waespi’s Friendly Takeover under the baton of David Holling and are absolutely delighted with this result!
Band Manager Robert Hardy says, “this is a superb result and is testament to the hard work put in by the band and David over the last few weeks, and we’re already looking forward to representing Yorkshire at the National Finals!”
Huge congratulations to our principal euphonium Ben Waller who deservedly won the Best Soloist prize, and to winning band South Yorkshire Police and third placed Hatfield and Askern Colliery!
